In 1969 I was fortunate to find myself accepted to the graduate program at Alfred University. To put it very simply - my few years at that institution have profoundly influenced and guided my subsequent thirty plus years of clay work. Atlantic Challenge - Apprenticeshop
Lance Lee - who began the Apprenticeshop at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath in 1972 is - in my opinion - a first water genius when it comes to applied education. I have never met anyone who carries the extraordinary focus and energy that he has sustained for decades. The educational models which he established are peerless.

Haystack Mountain – School of Crafts
Haystack Mountain School of Crafts is an international craft school located on the Atlantic Ocean in Deer Isle, Maine. The school offers intensive studio-based workshops in a variety of craft media including clay, glass, metals, paper, blacksmithing, weaving, woodworking and more. Programs range from short workshops to three-week sessions and anyone may participate, from beginners to advanced professionals.
